Weiss Schwarz News- What’s coming to Weiss Schwarz in English?

Greetings! It’s been a while since I have done some Weiss Schwarz content. I thought I

would get my feet wet with a news post. Summer is vast approaching and we have some exciting announcements for the English side of the game. English is getting some cool and exciting sets in the coming months. So lets take a look at what is coming!

There are a lot of cool releases announced. Konosuba vol 2 and Fate/Apocrypha were just announced recently. Konosuba Vol. 2 adds some nice tech to the set and the English players will be happy to see the additional support (I haven’t forgotten about finishing the set overview- expect part 2 soon).

Fate/Apocrypha is another exciting addition. It should be noted that this is a standalone set. It is not legal to mix with the Fate/Zero and UBW sets. Keep that in mind when deciding your purchase.  As to whether the set will be good or not, the jury is still out. We only have the TD+ at the moment released in JP, the booster releases later this month. Also we have very few previews for the set up to this point. Expect a TD review/ set overview for the set in the near future as I have bought into the set on the JP side.

Gurren Lagann has some cool tech and interesting cards. Sadly, though the set will probably not change the English meta game at all as it will likely have a tough time against the English Meta decks. If you are a fan of the series certainly pick it up as it has a lot of fun flavor to it- I have already preordered my boxes. Hopefully, once Konosuba is finished, I will turn my attention to a set overview for Gurren Lagann.

And finally we have Love Live Sunshine and Bang Dream coming soon. My knowledge of those sets is a bit limited so commentating on their impact is going to be tough. There are multiple boosters for Love Live Sunshine so English players will not be receiving the full set right away. Also Love Live Sunshine is a standalone set to my knowledge meaning that it can’t be mixed with the other Love Live sets. Just keep that in mind.
